Delta Beta Lambda Foundation Board Believes that the Universities Can Become a Leader in Establishing Nationwide Research and Core Components, to Effectively Address the 'Digital Divide' Issue

Delta Beta Lambda Foundation forms "Academic Tech Team" to provide both a nucleation point for university professors, doctoral candidates and technology professionals with similar interests and background in areas of Technology, Urban Planning, Game Design, Digital Media and Science

(PRWEB) July 12, 2008 -- Delta Beta Lambda Foundation forms "Academic Tech Team" to provide both a nucleation point for university professors, doctoral candidates and technology professionals with similar interests and background in areas of Technology, Urban Planning, Game Design, Digital Media and Science.

As a first step, it is necessary to bring together groups who are likely to play a pivotal role in developing academic and research programs to address the "Digital Divide" issue.

Team Objectives
Develop effective communication between academic professors across the world so that new ideas can be identified and developed, the ability and willingness of service, governmental and educational organizations to recognize and support new initiatives, and the availability of the resources necessary to implement and sustain "Digital Divide" program.

Team Goals

  • Improve Access Technology for low-income and disabled youth
  • Develop complete and accurate research in order identify service areas
  • Providing research and case studies that show how digital tools and applications can improve low-income youth and family education, health, employment, and civic opportunities.
  • Explore opportunities for collaborative research
  • Review the research findings of the various committee members
  • Discuss developments in technology and its impact on the "Digital Divide"

Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity Starts Campaign to promote the utilization of video gaming to foster positive influence in kid’s lives.
Spartanburg, SC February 21, 2009 – Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity Inc is a registered South Carolina charitable organization that provides positive experience for children participating in online games and is the world’s first video game fraternal organization. The organization seeks to expand to local colleges and universities recruiting the top technology students as members to support their community service initiatives. The organization further seeks to provide technology access programs to DepriTech youth, a term created by the organizations sister organization Delta Beta Lambda Foundation (www.technologyyouth.org) which translates to” Deprived of Technology: any individual, social class or economic class of individuals who are deprived of technology in such a manner that it may inhibit the personal, business, or professional growth or advancement of the individual or class of individuals”.
The organization will start this year “The Let the Kids Play Games Campaign Phase I” which will be a continued multiphase fundraising drive to raise needed funds for the organizations initiatives. Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity Inc will be soliciting computer gaming manufacturers, developers and related interactive entertainment industry corporations as well as local and national business to support this effort.

Development of interactive social network, educational resources and to foster positive peer culture online,
Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity Inc. plans to utilize the support of the above industry leaders to promote promotional events on their online community website: www.dblclan.com in order to provide positive online activities for the next generation youth.
The organization will provide online registration and donations for “Let the Kids Play Games Campaign” on their organizations website www.dblclan.com.
The organization will give corporate donations the opportunity to select advertising spots on the website and be listing in the online directory for their much needed donation.

This site will be the home of the Virtual Athletic Network Beta, which will be comprised of game publishers/developers, online gaming communities, and gaming organizations that will regulate and provide certification for professional level athletes. Delta Beta Lambda Fraternity has formed an online chapter Psi Gamma (www.deltabetalambda.org ) for professional level gamers in order to function as The First Virtual Athletic players union in the industry.
The site will employ professional gamers as trainers, officials, content editors and referees. Registration is available on www.dblpro.com limited to the first 5,000 registered users.
